Job Description Job Description Sr. Accountant – $50/hour – King City, CA ( Contract) We're seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing organization based in King City, CA. This is a contract opportunity offering stability, growth potential, and the chance to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative accounting team. Pay: $50/hour Location: King City, CA Schedule: Full-time hours - hybrid option Summary The Sr. Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's balance sheet, income statement, tax liabilities, costing analysis, intercompany reconciliations, and other related financial activities. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting operations. Key Responsibilities Perform general cost accounting and related duties. Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Maintain integrity of the general ledger and capital expenditures. Support month-end close: coding invoices, setting up new accounts, and reconciling accounts. Reconcile bank accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile cash disbursement, payroll, inventory, and customer accounts. Collaborate with A/P to ensure payments are properly coded to the GL. Provide documentation and support for external audits. Assist with federal, state, and local tax filings. Maintain and enhance ERP/accounting software systems. Partner with department heads on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Conduct detailed cost and variance analysis, including CVP and standard costing. Analyze direct and indirect costs across all business areas (nursery, cultivation, harvest, manufacturing, etc.). Identify process improvements to reduce costs and increase profitability. Maintain knowledge of US GAAP and ensure all reporting standards are met. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3 years of accounting experience with strong cost accounting and financial reporting background. Proficiency in GAAP, ERP systems, and Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
