Demand Response programs install and maintain A/C control devices, primarily in the Residential sector. The control devices are used during times of peak energy demand to reduce the load on the electric grid. In this management role, you will work with the administrative staff and the field supervisors to ensure contract targets are met. The Program Manager is responsible for program budget oversight, team development and engagement, vendor and client relationships, and more. Come make a difference, helping California balance the load on the electric grid!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Ensure successful delivery of program goals as indicated in Statement of WorkDevelop and manage production plan for programReport out on program performance and financial metricsLead program staff, including mentoring, coaching, and developmentOrchestrate partnership and work between centralized functions and program staffDevelop and expand client relationshipProvide client communications and reportingAct as primary contact for utility; manage the utility relationship and serve as an advocate for the clientManage relationships with subcontractors and other partners where applicableDevelop a comprehensive understanding of the program's strategic direction regarding energy efficiency and the business activities of its customersDevelop and manage a multi-million-dollar budget over multiple years including allocations to labor, expenses, subcontractors, and customer incentivesMonitor and manage program budgets to ensure full utilization of funds while meeting or exceeding energy goalsPrepare monthly invoices and activity reports as required to the client, partner or company management by the requested due dateActively engage in talent management process, including interviewing, resource planning and utilization, engagement planning, performance evaluations, and moreLead and support company-wide Safety effortsEnsure continuous improvement of operations and support tune-up activitiesGenerate ideas and conduct research on opportunities for program improvementsSupport Business Development with collaboration and sharing of expertise on sector-based program design, program re-bids, and client expansionsOversee application processing to ensure requirements are metPOSITION REQUIREMENTSEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - requiredAdvanced degree - preferred5 or more years of management/supervisory experience including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and mentoringProficiency in financial managementBackground in engineering, technology or science and experience in working in a technical environment - preferred4 or more years of experience in managing energy efficiency programsProven track record of high-level performance in meeting and exceeding expectations and goalsExperience in lighting, HVAC, and other technologies installed in commercial and industrial applications - preferredTechnical experience in developing and/or reviewing energy savings calculations to determine paybacks and incentive levels for customers - preferredRequired Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesSales or business development background a plusProven leadership in fast paced environmentHave an ability to prioritize workload and delegate appropriate work assignments to staffProficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and OutlookStrong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databasesAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and written with customers, clients and employeesAbility to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problemsKnowledge of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratiosCommitted to diversity and inclusionReliable transportationLicenses & CertificationsPMP certification - preferredValid driver's licenseTravel RequirementsWillingness to travel up to 40%PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTRequired to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controlsAbility to lift up to 10 poundsNoise Level is typically moderateEmployee could be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles and risk of potential shockNote: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.The above information describes the general duties and requirements necessary to perform the principle functions of the position.
