It’s not all at one time or one weekend as it’s important to assure proper rest periods and avoid double time. The call varies, depending on the need, but it is generally three 8 hour shifts every 4 week schedule. Hours may be 0900/1000-1730/1830 on weekend days, or 2300-0730 on weeknights/weekend night Holiday Requirements: on-call as needed Patient Population (Diagnoses): General surgery covering all specialties (except open heart) including pediatrics.
