Inbound Supervisor

Job Description:

  • Manage Inbound receipt scheduling (Air - Ocean - Domestic Freight)
  • Inbound Material Processing - reduce the time required to schedule, receive, inspect and put-away inbound receipts
  • Develop and maintain proper inventory disciplines and timeliness objectives in the Customer Returns and Warranty Areas
  • Ensure all receiving documentation is tracked appropriately for Customs Compliance
  • Increase accuracy levels within the inbound material handling
  • Ensure packages/mail (non - stock products) are tracked and delivered to the appropriate parties timely
  • Support performance metrics for all Inbound team members
  • Support established Safety Programs, Communications and Procedures
  • Ensure Team adherence to Company Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure all supplies and tools for the team to perform are available
  • Support and administer training for all Inbound / Returns and Equipment Operator staff
  • Maintain department Work Instructions and Forms for ISO compliance
  • Support system testing for new developments and regression testing within ERP
  • Support month end / quarter end reporting for Financials
  • Adheres to 5.11 Policies and Procedures; Upholds organizational values
  • Meet both qualitative and timetable objectives for Employee Evaluations & Goals

    • Personnel Management:
      • Strictly monitor safety procedures for all employees. Report and follow up on any/all safety violations, injuries, and potential hazards.
      • Supports and executes the department's overall staffing strategies.
      • Ensures that company policies and procedures are adhered to by staff.
      • Monitor and report on all employee attendance and production performance.
      • Coordinate and document all functional training of department personnel.
      • Develops, monitors, and maintains cross training programs.
        • Communicate with management in resolving any employee concerns.
        • Maintain strong management relations with all team members, developing a culture of commitment to high quality, high productivity, safety, teamwork, flexibility, and versatility.
        • Conducts orientation and evaluation processes for all employees.
          • Other duties as assigned.

              Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.               Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Two years of direct distribution experience may be substituted for each year of education. Five years' experience with WMS, RF and Conveyor Interface Systems is desired.

              Language Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization. Speaks clearly in positive and negative situations. Listens and gets clarification. Listens to others without interrupting.

              Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and monetary units. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

              Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations. Exceptional organizational skills required. Ability to recognize and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment and diplomacy.

              Computer Skills: MS Office Applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint. ABS and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) applications experience is preferred. Radio Frequency (RF) experience is desired

              Other Skills: Prior experience with Fork Lift Operations is desired.

              While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and stand up to 10 hrs/day on concrete flooring. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to view details up close (computer monitor), safely operate forklift equipment, and the ability to conduct inventory inspections both up close and from a distance within the warehouse.

              Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.               The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

              Temperatures range from warm to cold dependent upon the time of year.

              Congestion levels with personnel and equipment are moderate in the warehouse environment. Safety procedures must be always adhered to ensure a safe workplace.
