Job Description:

Position PurposeActing on own initiative, the HR Business Partner is a hands-on human resources expert who formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the organization's business objectives. This position collaborates with the Talent Management team to identify client needs and manages the team's efforts to continually improve services.Functional ResponsibilityEssential DutiesConducts investigations and addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints; identifies trends for employee relations and workplace issues; communicates results to leaders; initiates strategy and/or action plans that addresses employee relations issues; serves as a resource, supports, and counsels the business with any new or revised Company initiativesPartners with managers on employee performance and talent development plans; manages consistency among performance management and compensation alignment; identifies themes and works with HRBP team on next stepsSeeks to understand key business goals and priorities; supports and implements communication plans for organizational change initiativesApplies understanding and assists management in developing skills towards a constructive company culture; provides HR insights on business issuesPartners with hiring managers, Talent Acquisition team and HRBP team to determine staffing needs and builds an assessment of talent; interprets hiring data and provides recommendations utilizing sourcing strategiesWorks to ensure that career and training opportunities are being identified for employees in areas of responsibility; supports in the coordination and delivers training programsParticipates as a project member in Company initiative and/or projectIdentifies gaps in policies and processes and makes recommendations for improvementsCarries out policy changes and ensures business adoption and understandingMeets reporting requirements and monitors compliance with all relevant laws and regulations; protects confidentiality of highly sensitive informationRemains apprised of current trends, conditions, legislative changes, and handling of HR functionsProvides backup support for daily, general HR functions as neededOther duties may be assignedNon-Essential DutiesOther duties may be assignedMinimum RequirementsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field5+ years of directly related experience with multiple areas of responsibilityCertificates and LicensesProfessional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification desiredValid driver's license, appropriate automobile insurance coverage, and clean driving recordKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSeeks to understand the business priorities and strategiesAbility to analyze data and communicate to leadersExcellent organizational and project management skills; self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and quickly assess what needs to get doneLogical problem-solving ability with proficiency in solving practical problemsEffective team player; understands and demonstrates hands-on approach to providing HR supportAbility to communicate effectively; excellent coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution skills and abilitiesValues a team-oriented environment and exemplifies behavior for the greater good of the teamProficient with MS Windows Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and HRIS softwareWorking ConditionsOffice based position supporting either the Napa locations (Black Stallion Estate Winery and headquarters) or Manteca and King City locations (such as Manteca winery, Delicato Monterey, San Bernabe Vineyards or Alba Coast)Required to drive automotive equipmentWork StandardsActs in a manner reflective of the Company culture of High Moral Standards, Innovation and Continuous Evolution, Trust in Team, Continuous Improvement, and Sustainable RelationshipsCommunicates, interacts, and works effectively with others; receptive to feedback and coaching; voices concerns in a constructive mannerDemonstrates commitment to safety first; communicates safety concerns; promotes a safe work environment based on established safety standards and trainingFollows all Company policies and proceduresAdditional CommentsManagement retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.Delicato Family Wines offers its employees a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
