The AP Frontend Infrastructure team is responsible for the foundational systems that power the Google Ads, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. We own and develop critical infrastructure, including: Core infrastructure engineering where we develop and maintain the essential components that enable the Google Ads frontend to scale and perform efficiently. Advanced performance optimization where we build and deploy cutting-edge systems that leverage ML and key-driver analysis to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks across the Google Ads frontend. This includes, but is not limited to, latency optimization, opportunity discovery, and enforcement. Engineering velocity enhancement where we focus on accelerating development cycles by identifying and mitigating key velocity blockers, reducing codebase complexity, and fostering best practices for efficient software development. Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable infrastructure and shape the future of the Google Ads infra. Collaborate with cross stack/functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of frontend infrastructure. Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. Write and test product or system development code. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Develop and maintain AI tools and systems for engineering velocity improvements. Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback. Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
