Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in C++ programming language. 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. 3 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field. Experience with performance analysis and optimization on workloads. Experience with profile-driven optimizations. Knowledge of modern high-performance CPU architecture and micro-architecture. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Design and implement improvements to fundamental library code and runtimes, maximizing resource utilization across the fleet. Design and implement telemetry and profiling methods, as needed. Quantify the fleet-scale impact of optimizations using statistical analysis. Identify opportunities and contribute patches directly to partner codebases and core infrastructure. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive efficiency and performance optimizations across Google's fleet.
