Position PurposeUnder minimal supervision and acting on own initiative, the Production Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for daily maintenance operations and all tasks associated with supervising an assigned team, assessing and maintaining overall equipment condition/operation/reliability and ensuring the infrastructure of multiple facilities is preserved. This position manages and improves machine, facility and infrastructure reliability and elevates overall equipment and process effectiveness to achieve maximum potential.Functional ResponsibilitySupervises the day-to-day operations and assigned staff in accordance with management's directionLeads in a constructive manner by example; demonstrates and encourages a strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respectGuides team in the proper use of assets and resources to avoid waste and ensure cost-effective operationsMonitors performance and regularly communicates with team to achieve mutual understanding, maintain level of productivity, and deliver desired resultsPartners with immediate manager to determine staffing needsEnsures employees have a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment, provides applicable safety training and resolves/reports safety issues to managementSupports change initiatives and company decisions in an effective mannerImmediately informs management and addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential mannerEnsures employees are trained on the policies, processes, and procedures related to functional area; maintains company and regulatory compliance during day-day-operationsAdheres to departmental GPS (Performance Management) guidelines and ensures proper GPS documentation; trains employees to do the job; identifies and makes suggestions for training needs and development opportunitiesEssential DutiesOversees maintenance requirements and supports facilitiesPrepares, maintains and/or reviews logs, datasheets and maintenance management system reports to ensure adequate production levels, identify production equipment/system/process abnormalities and monitors equipment and associated problems; uses this information and other key data to drive continuous improvementEnforces Safety, ISO, GMP, DOE, LEAN and other applicable business critical standards, potential issues or other related items are communicated and dealt with in compliance with company standardsWorks closely with other maintenance supervisors, team members and stakeholders to ensure maximum utilization of resources, productivity and effective interactionSpends approximately 70% of time on the floor making rounds, assisting, monitoring and coachingOther duties may be assignedNon-Essential DutiesSummarizes daily reports into monthly dataReviews data for machinery defects, product response plans and product dispositions; recommends and implements improvementsOther duties may be assignedMinimum RequirementsEducation and ExperienceAA/AS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance and basic refrigeration and electrical a plusAt least 5-7 years mechanical experience in Industrial Maintenance and 2-3 years supervisory experienceKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPossesses ability to analyze test results, machine error messages, blueprints, repair manuals, parts catalogs, and information obtained from operators to understand, diagnose and correct equipment problems.Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events), possesses the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. Knowledge of analytical, scientific, spreadsheet, word processing, facilities maintenance, and e-mail software.Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications, programming, and PLC ladder logic.Basic understanding of preventive maintenance programs (CMMS)Working ConditionsConstant exposure to the elements and temperature variation working both indoors and outdoors and at heights up to 45 feet. Some work areas require ear and eye protection.
