Job DescriptionJob Description: The loader is responsible for organizing, loading, and securing outbound product for next day deliveries. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures set by the company. Shows an aptitude for following instructions, accepting changes in a positive manner, maintains a high level of quality work, and demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate to the driver, peers, and supervisors. Understands when to present loading issues or problems to their supervisor. Must be able to operate a sit-down forklift and demonstrate the ability to properly load and secure cargo in a box van/curtain trailer.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Comprehends the loading manifest and instructions given to them. Shows an awareness to one's surroundings and exercises safety when operating equipment, having the ability to maneuver product in the warehouse and in the trailers. Has the ability to complete given tasks, meeting productivity standards set by the company/supervisor.Properly consolidate and prep freight in accordance with the route and needs of our customer, enabling our drivers to make their deliveries efficiently; clearly communicating their work to the driver by the labels on the product and the commentary sheet.Report any errors, damage or discrepancies to their supervisor, to avoid a negative impact on our customer. Inspect equipment before daily use, using the checklist provided by management, immediately reporting any faults found with the equipment to their supervisor.Performs other duties as assignedStandards, licenses, registration and Certifications:Loader must become certified on the sit-down forklift, both electric and propane. A loader becoming certified with the reach-lift and man up adds value to the department and is necessary for Level advancement.
