possible.The Staff Electrical Engineer is responsible for
diagnosing and resolving electrical technical issues for Cepheid's
Instrument platform. Issues may arise from both internal and
external customers, including, but not limited to, Product
Lifecycle Management, Supply Continuity, and Design for
Manufacturability. The role focuses on medium and high-complexity
issues requiring a quick turnaround time and providing key feedback
to stakeholders.This position is part of Supplier Engineering and
will be located in Sunnyvale, CA, and will be Hybrid. At Cepheid,

diagnostic solutions.In this role, you will have the opportunity
to:
- Drive engineering initiatives to improve product reliability
and cost structure.
- Use analytical/experimental problem-solving skills to
understand hardware, software, reagents, and consumables issues and
to be able to quickly analyze and resolve system inter-operability
problems.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams with scientists,
technical support, and other engineers to create new and resolve
determined root-cause issues and collaborate/perform/lead with
other team members in the verification, validation, and Change
Order submission and implementation of the redesigns.
- Perform and supervise the testing of components and products to
ensure compliance with agency standards. Manage 3rd party testing
teams to timely project completion and resolution of testing
issues.
- Increase global access to PCR testing by ensuring supply chain
continuity through Sustaining Engineering.The essential
requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related
field
- At least 7 years of relevant work including hands-on experience
in designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Ability to create and execute test protocols and conduct data
analysis to gain insight into the quality and reliability of
proposed changes
- Conduct board schematics/layout designs (both analog and
digital), troubleshooting, and verification of electronics packaged
within tight physical constraints
- Conduct failure investigations related to electrical systems
and components with a proven track record in troubleshooting
complex electrical issues, driving to root cause, and implementing
effective corrective actionsIt would be a plus if you also possess
previous experience in:
- Competent with the implementation of ISO 9001, with ISO 13485
preferred
- Previous work experience in an FDA-regulated environment

provide.The salary range for this role is $130,000.00 - 185,000.00
annually. This is the range that we, in good faith, believe is the
range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this
posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
This range may be modified in the future.This job is also eligible
for bonus/incentive pay.We offer a comprehensive package of
