Job Description:

Position Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Wage Range $23-$26
Shift: 6am-2:30pm
Responsible for supporting the QA department through product control, verification procedures, organization, compliance and inspection of finished goods.
PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
On the line quality checks (dates, lots, labels, nutritional information, weights)/ Slice count verification checks (average slices per lb.)Enforcing GMP s throughout the plant.Create maintenance repair reports when needed.Finished product quality checks.CCP Direct Observations and documentationOperational GMP & Sanitation Observations throughout entire plant.Supervision of proper equipment cleaning and sanitizing by maintenance.Check bellies at Bacon Press for proper temperature and feel of bellyLead and document leaker checksVerifying timeliness and accuracy of production documentationReturn product checks/releases.Verifying correct sanitation chemicals are being used & check titrations.Collect product samples for customers and/or pull retain samples.Perform shelf-life test.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read, write, speak & understand English.Bilingual Spanish desired but not required.Earned a college degree desired.HACCP & SQF training/certification desired.Will be required to pass HACCP certification within 6 months of being in the QA/QC department.Ability to work under minimum supervision.Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities effectively.Ability to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines in a timely & effective manner.Basic computer and math skills. (Microsoft Office Experience required)Good communication skills to include with USDA meat inspectors and Independent auditors.
