The company is dedicated to attracting, developing and retaining future generations of leaders.About the Position:The role of the Operations Manager is to drive accountability, manage and support construction and field operations efforts. This role is responsible for the operational oversight, from preconstruction to close-out, of a select group of projects and implementation of construction strategies and tactics that drive the strategic goals of the company.Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy, client expectations and commitments and work with project teams to deliver on same.
• Employ organizational skills that effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact the project. When obstacles arise, employ sound decision making/problem solving skills to resolve the issue.
• Initiate and maintain liaison with clients to facilitate positive relationships and communication.
• Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customer, subcontractor, vendor, and craft personnel.
• Provide direction and leadership to project management and field staff on projects from project start to project close.
• Serve as a construction expert and resource by using complex technical and problem-solving skills to support office and field staff on projects, especially those projects having trouble.
• Proactively identify project risks and develop and drive recovery plans to minimize damage to all aspects of the project including impact on schedule, financial results, client relationship, project team relationships, etc.
• Educate and enforce best practices and construction activities including policies, protocols and procedures.
• Drive and track meaningful internal project team meetings.
• Perform constant review of processes to develop efficient workflows for project teams.
• Coordinate staffing needs for projects.
• Using your knowledge and construction experience, look for opportunities to improve the project budget and schedule.
• Oversee and/or audit project cost controls, budgets, invoicing, estimates and project forecasting and provide input to Executive management related to project operations and status.
• Identify, acknowledge, and communicate change conditions with project managers and owner representatives.
• Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action.Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience required.
  • 15+ years' experience in all areas of management of construction segments with advanced knowledge of the heavy civil construction industry, company operations, accounting principles, construction technology and trends. Previous management experience should also provide thorough knowledge of how corporate objectives impact actual construction, strategies and techniques and construction contracts.
  • Caltrans experience required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Expert knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing project budgets and schedules.#LI-DS1
